Thank you all for the answers!: This is especially true of the more modern fully-synthetic oils - they don't come out of the earth at all, but are effectively long-chain lubricants from the very outset. Modern long-life fully-synthetic oil that meets the main manufacturers specs is the result of years of research; it definitely does do what liqui moly 5w40 ebay buying says on the tin and adulterating what is a pretty finely-balanced package of base additives with some off-the-shelf product is not to be recommended. I would like to make a wash of the engine and put this additive.
Just to clarify, MoS2 is a lubricant hence "antifriction". Using a good quality oil preferably synthetic or semi-synthetic with no additives, but changed at regular, frequent intervals, will give much better engine protection than using a cheaper oil combined with one of these dubious liqui moly 5w40 ebay buying.
